January 19, 2010 - St. Vincent De Paul Place was recently chosen as one of the 2010 Power of One Community Service Award recipients from Collins Foundation, Inc. at the recent M.L. King, Jr. Day Breakfast and Food Drive at the Crowne Plaza in Cromwell. The Power of One Community Service Award is granted to local agents of change who have demonstrated a commitment to positive social change through their actions and initiatives in the greater Connecticut community. “St. Vincent De Paul Place was identified by their peers, colleagues and community leaders as a stellar example of the principle that one dedicated and determined organization has the power to alter and make a real difference in the lives of others,” explained Gary H. Collins, Founder & CEO of the Collins Foundation. “The beneficiaries of your exceptional work at St. Vincent De Paul Place and Amazing Grace were outspoken in this regard. We couldn't agree more!” Ron Krom, executive director of St. Vincent De Paul Place, accepted the award with several of our staff and Board members at the ceremony on January 18th.
